Japanese Culture Club
Imagine witnessing an epic kendama showdown, or learning about the intricacies of the Japanese tea ceremony and all the various festivals, while eating hand-made onigiri rice balls (hand-made by YOU!) There’s so much to discover about Japanese culture and you can experience all of this by joining the Japanese Culture Club!

Open to all students, Japanese Culture Club (JCC) is a highly informative and fun club full of students passionate about anything related to Japanese culture. Come learn useful Japanese vocabulary and kanji characters, or just listen to and participate in discussions about everything from washoku (traditional Japanese food) to street-racing and the evolution of Japanese music. If you’re into current events, we also read news articles about what’s happening in Japan—no knowledge of Japanese is necessary. With various presentations, events, and activities, no two weeks are truly the same at JCC!

In addition to in-club activities, JCC works with other organizations in the Japanese program to host TJ’s annual Oshogatsu (New Year) Festival, and we participate in iNite and J-Day every year. Our meetings are Friday 8th period during B block, so come by and join us as we explore Japanese culture to its fullest while having fun along the way!
